What influences you?

Some people are influenced by personal or emotional factors, life experiences, possibly education, even psychological factors, and also, guess what, Rob, money.

Many people are influenced by money.

Well, especially here in the state of Indiana.

So you've got corporations, companies, groups, advocates, all these different firms and other people collectively spending a lot of money attempting to influence our lawmakers.

They're called lobbyists.

That's what they're called.

And the Capitol Chronicle, and this just jives perfectly with what we were just talking about,

about how you get screwed in a select group of people always seem to benefit.

And lobbyists are the evil heart of all of this. And the Capital Chronicle has an

article out that said last year lobbyists were paid or spent. The firm spent, lobbyists spent

collectively, $30 million. $30 million on the Indiana General Assembly.

Now, a couple things stood out about this article.

One, I believe every lawmaker that agreed to go on the record with the Capitol Chronicle

had been there at least 23 years.
