We are going to talk about the Gold Cup roster today on this episode of Allocation Disorder.

We will also talk about the different approaches to roster selection for the

goal cup between the U.S. and Mexico, kind of go into some of the ideas behind roster selection

with the national team. It's a little bit different than roster building, which is something

we talk about a lot on allocation disorder. But I do think a lot of the strategy is the same.

You take out the cap stuff. You take out trying to manage the money in Tam and Gam and all that.

But there is a real strategy to how you pick teams, why you choose certain guys over others.

So we'll dive into that in the second or third segment today. But first, what we're going to do,

we're going to go kind of position by position on this U.S. roster. Talk through some of Greg Burrhalter's decisions. And, you know, like I said, I'll go into some of the strategy I think Burrhalter is using. We'll get some of Felipe's thoughts as well. All right, Felipe, let's start off with the goalkeepers on this roster.

It's pretty straightforward.

Not too many huge surprises.

Matt Turner from the New England Revolution, Sean Johnson from NYCFC, and Brad Guzan from Atlanta United.

I'm going to start by saying, I'm going to skip ahead a little bit just because it works for this joke.

But I am very happy that Brad Guzan is on this roster.

I wanted to see Greg Burrhalter call up every possible Atlanta United player

that was even close to being good enough for the Gold Cup roster as payback for Atlanta United,

not allowing them to call up Miles Robinson, Brooks Lennon,

and George Bello for the Olympic roster.

They would have missed zero games for being on the Olympic roster.

They will miss several games for the Gold Cup.
