joined by a special guest, my colleague from the athletic, Pablo Mauer. Pablo, how's it going

today, man? It's good. It's seen a lot of you recently. Too much. Some people might say.

I know, too much. Pablo and I are going on a long sabbatical from each other immediately after this phone call ends. But we are going to do this phone call first. So we are recording Sands Paul because Pablo and I just published a story on Chivas USA in kind of the history of the club, the foundation, the rise, the brief, I guess, rise, the glory

three or four years, whatever you want to call it, and then the long, ridiculous fall

before they were bought by the league and then eventually folded after the 2014 season.

There was a lot in the piece.

I think our first draft of it was like 14,000 words.

That got cut down a little bit significantly.

But somehow for a story that was super long, I think the longest piece I've ever published, as a matter of fact.

I don't know if that's true for you, Bob.

Yeah.

It would be our 25 stories thing was 9,000 something, I think.

The George Best one was as well.

So this shattered that record.

There you go.

So, you know, for a piece that long, you would think we would have dumped out the notebook entirely.

It inserted everything that we could into

this story.
