might have sold one of their Fab 4 but I'm delighted to say I'm joined by the fab four tonight in for

the podcast I've got with me John Coleman Atkinson Stanley manager and also a massive

red got Keith Cohen John Nickle. Stanley Manager and also a massive red.

We've got Keith Colvin, John Nicholson, and Stephen Morrow Monaghan,

also known as Stickerman, I believe recently.

Everywhere he goes, stickers seem to appear.

Whether it's on Jose Marino or on outside Yat Reykjavik's ground.

But I first like to start off the podcast really with the sad news this week about one of Shankly's

legends Tommy Lawrence. Tommy was a fantastic goal, Liverpool Football Club and he was also made his

debut in October 62.

He actually signed for Liverpool I think it was in October 57 so he spent five years

in apprenticeship really and then when he took his chance he got the nod to get in the

first team he never looked back really and he was a constant

goalkeeper for Liverpool until the emergence of Ray Clemens. He played his last game

for Liverpool 1971. So all through that 60s period, two league championships and of course the famous

FA Cook win. Tommy Lawrence was the goalkeeper and Shankly always talked about the spine of his team, goalkeeper Centilaff and Centre Forward and Tommy was part of the also known as I think one of the first sweeper keepers, you know, he was given that mantle by various people.

And that's, he described himself, he said, Shankly told him to stand on the edge of a box

and not on the six yard box and he said the cop will all go a mad saying you're

too far out you're gonna get chipped and all that but it was his it was his idea

of if the ball ever came through that he'd act as a sweeper for the team and he always

said and I had the privilege a few months ago of interviewing him and Ray Clemens for a Shankly night and he was very humble, a lovely man and all the 60 teams say what a great person he was so
