We're here to talk about Alien Earth and it hasn't come out yet.

So this is a preview podcast.

We've seen the trailers.

I've read a little bit about the show and I got to say I'm super hyped after reading more about it. It's not exactly what I was expecting, but it's maybe more than I hoped for. How are you feeling about it? I remember we first heard about this back in 2019. Someone on lunch mentioned that this thing had gotten greenlit. And I guess it's something that's been trying to get off the ground for a while. But I were like, well, are you excited? And I'm like, I was thinking about like, Prometheus and it's like, I don't hate those movies, but they're not exactly what I'm looking at. And I, I don't know what Holly got attached. I was excited, but I'm like, you know, I've never seen Holly do something this, you know, kind of hard edge, scary sci-fi.

The one thing I think of is Legion, which we actually covered with our friends at Podcastica.

And that was very cool and slick and stylish, but like Holly always dutch, like if there was ever going to be a big mental mutant fight, it was time to do a dance, you know, like a Broadway dance fight.

Like you'd do that or it'd be time to get like an anime style or do a puppet fight or anything but, which is great.

You're trying to, you know, what does people fighting on the metaphysical plane look like? Who knows? And I kind of thought, well, that's probably where they'll go with this. But then you start reading and, uh, and it's, this has also been like plagued because like, literally just when they got started, COVID hit. And then they started getting spun up. The strike hit. And then it's like, oh, we can still do some stuff in the UK without our American cast. And then there was some kind of work stoppage. And I was like, I kept on hearing all this. And I'm like, then I started seeing that this is the most expensive series FX has ever greenlit that it costs more than Shogun, which was the previous $250 million record holder.

I started seeing the trailers and I'm like, this does not look like paper mache, dance battle

aliens at all.
