Welcome, welcome and a third customary welcome to YOU, dear Distraction Pieces Podcast listener, and to the one hundred and eighty first episode! A damn fine, properly solid episode it is too, as your loyal host Scroobius Pip is joined by creator and star of 'Taskmaster' (and very good friend of Tim Key), Alex Horne!
Get involved, be you viewer or not, in this chat with Pip and Alex, and enjoy the ground covered between the pair of them. Situated out in the Taskmaster shed, which - as you will hear from time to time - lies directly under a flight path, hear Alex get down and dirty in the history, present and future of the hit Dave channel programme, which involves a good amount of Edinburgh Fringery, along with a hefty amount of Tim Key, and some good old fashioned messing about. From there on things get serious and the show is created, and you'll hear all about it - from the favourite stars, the evolution and theory of having the same team episode to episode, the awesome and bizarre tasks involved, his early days on the Big Brother series and how that fed the seeds of his ideas, a pizza interlude (don't worry, no 'misophonia' warnings on this one), his Horne Section, US and UK comedy, and just a great chat with a very nice person indeed. Wonderful stuff.

0:00.0 | Welcome, welcome, welcome. This is episode 181 of the Distraction Pieces Podcast. |
0:06.0 | It's an exciting one. I'm joined this week by Alex Horn, the assistant of the taskmaster, |
0:14.9 | both of the creator of the taskmaster TV show, which is one of my favourite TV shows. |
0:20.5 | If you follow me on social media, you will have seen me rave about it a lot. |
0:24.5 | I got this opportunity come up last minute to go to the taskmaster house and chat with Alex |
0:31.4 | in the taskmaster caravan. So it's hugely exciting. Before I get into the sponsor bit that I always |
0:37.7 | do in the intros, I think it's worth mentioning that I would easily win taskmaster and be the greatest |
0:46.5 | guests completing all the tasks cleverly, instinctively and wonderfully. I would also correct |
0:56.3 | Greg Davies every week on how to say task because it's task, it's not task. So I want you all to |
1:04.0 | tweet Alex Horn, tweet Dave, tweet taskmaster, all of these just hassle them saying that they need |
1:11.5 | to get Scruviest Pip on a future series. So in fact, I'll give you a minute before we go into |
1:19.1 | the podcast. Now if you want to just pop your phone out, open, click that's it, open Twitter, |
1:27.2 | then do at Dave, I think it will come up at Dave Channel maybe. |
1:33.1 | Yep, and then at taskmaster, that will come up. I'm not sure what the exact tag is. |
1:38.3 | Alex Holt again, similar act Greg Davies. Just tag all of them and say, that's it, that's it, |
1:47.7 | the verified one, the blue tick. Yep. And just basically demand that the next guest or a future |
1:57.2 | series involves at Scruviest Pipio. Have you done that? Yep. There we go, send the tweet. That's |
2:08.7 | yep. Okay, perfect. And then I'll come on, I'll like that. And I'll say, yeah, that's a great |
2:14.8 | idea. You just came up with that independently, but I agree with your independent |
2:20.7 | thought. And it's great to see such public demand for me to come on. I promise if I do go on, I won't |
2:27.6 | stutter over every task because that would obviously extend the length of the program extensively. |
2:34.3 | This week's podcast is built to you as ever by speechdevelopmentreckles.com. Christmas is coming. |
