This is just something interesting very quickly from ESPN.

Most teams, this is about receivers and secondary free agents.

Most teams prefer to develop and resign-sign their secondary wide receivers

because when those players have hit free agency over the past few years,

the deals really haven't worked out.

Over the past three off seasons, there have been 15 second or third wideouts

who landed contracts worth at least $7 million per season.

The hit rate on those deals has been disastrous.

The only real hits have been Jacoby Myers and Adam Thielen.

You could make for the case of Cooper Cup,

but that would be blocking, the guy says.

Charitably, that's a 20% success rate.

There have been way more disasters in this contract range with players such as Alan

Lazard, Mike Williams, Tutu Atwell, and Diami Brown all have played their way out of favor

and into a healthy scratch territory by the end of year one.

Well-known veterans like Hollywood Brown, Curtis Samuel, and Joshua Palmer weren't able to parlay moving teams with Hall of Fame quarterbacks into more production.

These guys haven't been appreciably better than the players on lesser deals or rookie contracts,

but they've cost much more to roster.

So we've already seen a handful of these deals handed out in the first day of free agency,
