through over the next few minutes. First, a hotly contested issue in schools across the country,

and you probably guessed it, what role should artificial intelligence play in the classroom?

On Tuesday, the city released long-awaited guidance, outlining how and when teachers and students

are allowed to use AI.

But the directives are still a little murky, and the city is now soliciting feedback.

Another major development, more than 150 schools across the city have adopted digital hall passes. These are systems

break at the same time, and how long they've been gone. And in overall education policy news,

Mayor Zeranamam Dani is asking the state legislature to let him maintain mayoral control of New York City's public schools.
