And there's several points, but I think, look, the Bush administration made structural errors

with the establishment of the Afghan government and how it built the Afghan military.

But I felt those problems were correctable over time.

To me, the real failure began when the political elite decided it was time to leave Afghanistan.

That began under the Obama administration. It was carried through under the
