Summary

FIRST THING: Have you ever just sat and stared your partner or a friend in the eyes? You might end up trying it out after listening to this episode. Affection in a relationship with a partner or a friend (or even a pet!) might mean trying new things like the "slow blink" method to connect. It also might require conversations or research because not everyone shows affection in the same ways. We all need affection. Giving it, as well as receiving it, helps us feel good!

SECOND THING: Do you feel misunderstood on text at times? Amy had a communication mishap over text this week and she realizes that it all could have been avoided if the person could have heard her tone from the beginning. Misinterpretation is caused by perception.  And because perceptions are unique to each of us, it’s inevitable that misinterpretation will happen to us all…so maybe having difficult conversations on text should be avoided?!! Amy also defines the true meaning of an emoji that she is always confused by when people send it.

THIRD THING: Do you want less stress and more flow? Less stress and better gut health? Amy shares 5 holistic ways to reduce stress from a doctor and then a 6th way with Tina Anderson, founder of Just Thrive. Amy takes (and pays for with her own money) the Just Thrive probiotic every day and has for the last 2 years (along with their Gut-4-tify). She recently added their Just Calm to the mix. Tina joins Amy to talk about Just Calm because stress is impacting our digestive system and our cognitive health. We are all about anything that can help us stay calm and clear when we feel stressed...and that's where Just Calm comes to the rescue. Tina has given ‘4 Things’ listeners a code…just enter 4THINGS when you check out HERE & you’ll save 20%!

FORTH THING: Are you okay with aging? If you’re not, you should start being okay with it. Why? Because researchers from the Yale School of Public Health discovered that thinking positively about the aging process can slow cognitive decline in older adults. They found that people who held “positive age beliefs” were more likely to recover from mild cognitive impairment than those who didn’t. Amy used to not be okay with aging, but now she’s into it and can’t wait to see what her 40s and 50s bring!! Just remember no matter your age…you are useful to society, work, family, etc…

Hope you’re having the day you need to have!!
