There's been no shortage of upsets as Senegal, Morocco and Egypt were among the favourites who've been sent home,

while hosts Ivory Coast have scraped into the quarters and DR Congo are in the last date without winning a game in open play. Marvelous stuff. My name's Ryan Bailey joining me to talk all things Afcon. We've got your friend and mine, Taylor Rockwell. Hello, Taylor. Hello, I'm excited to be here, excited to talk Afcon. There have been some good games and there have been some bad games that were still quite good. Lots of hashtag drama to discuss, Taylor, looking forward to it very much. So joining us to have that discussion, Graham Ruthven, hello, Graham. Hello, Ryan Bailey, how are you? Have any of your pre-tournament predictions held up because mine certainly happen? None of the top five nations have made it as far as the quarterfinals. I don't know if anyone saw this on Twitter yesterday.

I find this amazing. None of the eight teams that have made the quarterfinals at this tournament

were in the last, we're in the quarterfinals of the last Afcon. We have eight completely new teams,

which is sheer madness. I can't think of a tournament where that has ever happened before,

so we're in new territory. Can't wait to get into it. Yeah. Safe to say this hasn't gone to form in many ways, but very exciting all the same. Joe Larry with us. Hello, Joe. Yeah. Hey guys. I had the exact tweet that grammar is referencing up on my phone ready to share the exact same fact. In Afcon 2021, it was Senegal, Egypt, Morocco, Burkina Faso, Equatorial, Guinea, Gambia, Cameroon, and Tunisia. And now none of those teams are here. It is Nigeria, D.R. Congo, Angola, South Africa, Mali, Cape Verde, Guinea, and the Ivory Coast. Guys, this tournament has been absolutely electric. The favorites, maybe the star power is not quite the same now as it was to

close out the 2021 edition. But man, the games and the upsets have been flowing steadily. I have been

enjoying this immensely. Taylor is going to go full Jason Kelsey when Cape Verde end up winning

this whole thing, which is potentially on the cards, though. How do you know? I haven't already.

Between that and my prediction that Iver Coast would win the whole thing before the tournament

began, I'm just choosing to argue that this was how they scripted it the whole time.

We knew this is how it was going to play out.

I had some conversations.

I knew it was going to be some drama.

So yeah, Copverd, Ivory Coast in the final, and I'm very happy.
