Hi, this is Against Everyone with Connor Abeeb. A weekly podcast featuring my conversation with

engaging and accessible way. I'm so excited to be joined this week by Shnade Gleason. Shnade is a giant

figure in the literary scene here in Ireland. And most recently,

she published a book called Constellations, which is all about anatomy and ghosts and feminism

and some astrology mixed in. You can imagine that this book is after my heart.

Sheenade is also very well known here for being an editor. Uh, can imagine that this book is after my heart.

Sheneid is also very well known here for being an editor,

anthologizing, especially Irish women writers.

So one of her books that she edited The Long Gays Back,

An anthology of Irish Women Writers, was a huge deal here and also the Glashore short stories by women

from the north of Ireland. If you're not in Ireland, I suggest that you go to the black market

and get these books, i.e. Amazon.com. UK or some independent bookstore have them shipped in.

Constellations will be out in the U.S.

really soon. But I couldn't wait until it was out in the U.S. to talk to Schneid, one, because

the book is really huge here right now. And so she's really a name in people's conversations

when they talk about literature, when they talk about feminism in

Ireland. I really wanted to talk to her about this concept that has come up on the show a bunch

of times of creating our own anatomy books, and by that I don't mean like some hipster coloring book,

although that also sounds fun.

But I mean really kind of mapping out or reconceptualizing the meanings that our bodies give to us.
