This week I'm speaking with mystery and horror author Sarah

Grant, and I'm so excited to share this conversation with you. A reason why I'm so excited is that

Sarah's writing, especially in her Claire DeWitt novels, which is a series of detective novels

that she's written, we've mysteries

and detectives in and out of all the kinds of things that I love talking about and thinking

about, whether it's the occult, psychoanalysis, radical philosophy, ontology, phenomenology,

metaphysics, you don't even have to know what that stuff is.

It's just some stuff that I'm really into talking about.

And we do, I think, a good job breaking it down into really plain language in the episode.

I'm so really excited to share this episode with you because Sarah and I had our first conversation years ago. We were introduced

by our friend, the musician and writer Nathan Larson, who introduced us, but not in person. He just

said, you two have to meet. So we met. It was almost like a blind date. And we just ended up

talking for a really long time, particularly about the French

psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan.

So we had that conversation.
