Hello and welcome to the AEW Dynamite Review.

0:03.9

I'm Michael Amflick from What Culture and I'm joined by Phil Chambers from What Culture to discuss everything that went down as AEW kicked off its residency at the 2300.

0:13.0

EZ-Dub, E-C-Dub! Believe me, this is the dance!

0:21.2

I was crying more than Tommy Dreamer thinking about this place

0:23.9

and not just when he's grifting on busted open when he reviews this show.

0:27.6

Our regular intro will be scrapped, binned,

0:32.1

because we're still in Wakey Summer,

0:34.1

which is why we've got the pleasure today of Phil Chambers

0:36.1

to discuss a kind of, well, I was going to say unique. There are going to be six of them once you count the collisions and dynamites that are going to do as part of this month or so, the spending. But this is the first. Yeah. Yeah, this was the first opportunity we're going to get to see AW's take on this building. W.B ran NXT there. And I like it. Yeah. Spo Spoiler alert. Well, this is it right. So it's now, we put it over yesterday on the preview, but NXT did a nice job of it. The Indies that run there to get there, I guess, the kudos and the credibility. Can't quite recreate it because it has been given a bit, like a lick of paint and a bit of polish since the days.

1:11.1

Yeah.

1:16.8

But I think, unsurprisingly from Tony Kahn, this was an obvious love letter, the best visual replication of the ECW arena ever, I think.

1:20.3

Yep, it was a nice mix of old and new kind of coming together to create something that, like,

1:25.5

harks to the past, but still has the sort of a bit

1:27.9

of glossy TV shine to it.

1:29.2

Yeah.

1:29.8

The entrance way I thought was great, the little curve coming around the pillars.

1:34.7

The mix of like the like chicken wire kind of wiring and then the LED screens at the bottom,

1:40.3

I thought was like the perfect like just enough.

1:42.5

I agree.

1:42.8

Actually, yeah.

1:43.5

Stuff with the light and then the like entrance tron type deals, but with the old ECW vibes with the chicken wire thing and the smoke and stuff. Thin, the thin LCD screens on these pillars that otherwise wouldn't need to be there. Just a little splash of colour. Yeah, a little bit. Bleachers as well. Like that raised look that the fact look that the fact, the Easterbie bleachers used to have, like, obviously fans looked a bit more comfortable here in 2025. But yeah, that, just the sort of the raised heads look of it all, like the face hard camera. It was all lit really well. Yeah. I think, like, genuinely one of the nicest AW arenas in venues of sitting in ages, I think. I would agree. It was different. Like immediately, as soon as that show opened, it was like, this looks different.

2:01.1

This is fun. arenas of sin, venues of sin in ages, I think. I would agree. It was different.
