Tony Khan promised a gift for Sting on tonight show Sting announced last week that he would be retiring at AEW Revolution in 2024 and Tony Khan was going to have a special gift for him and a lot of guesses as to what that gift might be, but the gift turned out to be Rick Flair.

Can we return this gift if we have the receipt? Will they allow us to return the gift at the store if we present the receipt to the cashier?

There he was in the middle of the ring hanging homage to Sting saying some nice words about him.

Tony Khan had a gift for all of us though and that was the gift of Okata.

It was very casually announced last week that Kazuchka Okata from New Japan pro wrestling would be wrestling on Dynamite tonight.

In a tag team match with Orange Cassidy against Brian Danielson in Claudio Castignoli.

So the first time that Okata and Danielson had been in the ring together since Forbidden Door when Okata broke Danielson's arm.

It was very casually thrown out there last week and that turned out to be the highlight of the night because we had a very good, very fun made event that gave us a little preview of what is to come at Wrestle Kingdom because I still believe the match at Wrestle Kingdom will be the rematch between Brian Danielson and Okata.

And I thought what they did tonight was perfect because we got Okata and Danielson a little bit in the ring but they didn't give too much away.

You want to save that for the eventual rematch so we got a small preview of what is to come in the eventual rematch between these two men.

But we also had Claudio in there for the first time with Okata which is something I was looking forward to just as much as seeing Danielson and Okata back in the ring.

And Claudio picks up the win for his team pinning Orange Cassidy which has now earned him a match next week on Dynamite for the AEW International Championship.

They did an angle post match that a lot of people are assuming and thinking was real and I know what they were doing.

They were basically planting the seeds for the eventual rematch between Danielson and Okata and Danielson was selling a face injury and I'm sure that's all it was.

But it came off very awkwardly and it kind of killed the crowd because I don't think the crowd really knew what they were doing.

I think the crowd thought he might seriously be heard and he wasn't but that's kind of how they took it.

And you had all these people out there because the blackpool combat club members were out there the best friends members were out there hook was out there he was jaw jacking back and forth with Wheeler you know.

It was almost like you were waiting for something to happen you can see how caught and he was sort of taunting Danielson he was rubbing his face like oh does it hurt does it hurt.

So and that's how they went off the air.

So yeah it was it was a little bit of an awkward ending to the show a little bit chaotic there at the end.

But I loved everything about that main event and speaking of main events this is a very newsworthy episode of dynamite and I really like tonight's show except for maybe a couple things.

But I enjoyed tonight's show and it was a newsworthy show for a few reasons and one of the reasons this show was newsworthy is for the announcement that on collision this Saturday they are going to be in Connecticut.
