You know, many years ago when I was watching WCW Monday Nitro, there was an episode that had a

Bret Hart Chris Benoit tribute match. And it was a tribute match to Owen Hart. There's

a few months after Owen passed away. And it was several months before Bret was ready to

get back out there. And he and Benoit got in the ring and they had one of the greatest

matches in Nitro history. As a tribute to somebody who in the case of Benoit respected

Owen in the case of Bret, he lost the brother. And it was a very emotional thing. And we

have seen a lot of emotional tributes over the years on wrestling shows to wrestlers that

had passed away, unfortunately. Tonight was one of those nights where it almost doesn't

even matter what else happened on the show. And there was a lot that went on tonight

here on this episode of AW Dynamite. But it all boiled down to that main event that

we saw with Mark Briscoe and Jay Lethal to close out the show. It's hard to believe that

as we sit here tonight, it was eight days ago that Jay Briscoe passed away. He was in a car

accident eight days ago, lost his life. And eight days later, Mark Briscoe is out there

in the ring wrestling Jay Lethal, which just goes to show you that everybody grieves in their

own way. There are some people I saw earlier wondering, what frame of mind is he going to be in?

Is he going to be ready? It's only been a week basically since it happened. Some people might

look at it as a form of therapy to get out there and get back into things. And in the case of

Bret, like I said, it took many months before we saw him back on TV before he was back in the ring

after what happened to his brother. But it's hard to wrap your head around the fact that eight

days ago, Jay Briscoe was still with us. And today would have been his 39th birthday.

And so his brother wanted to go out there tonight and have a match in honor of his brother

when four days from now, his brother is going to be laid to rest. The services for Jay Briscoe
