Today we're marking the first birthday of Adventure Rider Radio. Adventure Rider Radio is now completed

0:05.1

one year's worth of programming, and I can't believe how the time has gone by so fast. We started

0:11.7

out last June with our first podcast that featured Carla King talking with Ted Simon at one of the

0:16.5

Overland events. We had a product review and a couple other things together on the first show, and it worked

0:21.7

out great. Although when I go back and listen to those episodes, I can't help but cringe a bit as I hear

0:26.5

some of the intros and cuts that I made. But as anything, it evolves with experience, and so did

0:32.0

Adventure Rider Radio, and I'm sure it will as it moves forward and the time to come.

0:37.0

Last June, when we did that first episode

0:39.1

and posted it on our website, we had zero listeners, other than a few friends and family. Today,

0:45.5

when we post an episode on our website, we're around 30,000 downloads a month. That's amazing,

0:51.2

30,000 downloads a month. And overall, we're closing in on 200,000 downloads, and by the time

0:56.9

we reach that, it'll be just over a year. 200,000. I'm so grateful for the response that we've had from

1:02.8

this show, and I got to thank you, the listener for that. Right from the beginning, Elizabeth and I

1:07.8

have strived to produce an interesting, entertaining, informative, and mostly inspirational show.

1:13.4

Because I think that most of us go through life accepting what everyone tells us life is supposed to be like, without ever questioning the status quo.

1:21.8

And many of our guests here on Adventure Rider Radio, they live completely different lives.

1:26.5

They don't fit into the average,

1:28.3

the norm of what people think life is supposed to be. And for that, they have this rich,

1:33.9

incredible life with these beautiful experiences they tell us about. I believe learning about

1:38.9

these people and listening to the way they see the world helps us look at our lives from a different perspective.

1:45.8

Helps us imagine, dream, feel inspired, you know, to push our own limits and our own comfort

1:50.5

zones so that we grow and we have a better experience with life.
