Summary

This Sunday Pastor Jon Tyson continued our Advent series with a teaching from John 3:16-21 about the darkness that exists within the world and within us. Advent makes room for us to face the darkness Jesus rescues us from, and invites us to ask Him to lead us into the freedom of His marvelous light forever. It is out of this truth that we can offer a “Merry Christmas” out of a place of deep joy to everyone we meet, knowing that our darkness has been conquered by His light.

1:22.2	It is John 3, 16 through 21.
1:26.9	For God so love the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
1:35.3	For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
1:41.3	Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe
1:46.1	stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
1:52.5	This is the verdict. Light has come into the world, but people love darkness instead of light
1:57.8	because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light and will not come into the light for fear that their
2:05.6	deeds will be exposed.
2:06.6	But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light so that it may be seen plainly that
