Recall and come back to me in the park when I learn them off the lead.

Okay, so the good news is that you mentioned that your dog is still a puppy and just a few months old and that is very key

Because if you ever went to the park with me and any of my three dogs

You would very quickly presume not to ask me this question

Knowing that I would not be able to answer with any authority

Because they they do not come in fact when we go to my parents house in Michigan for the weekend if my dog

Fletcher runs into the woods and he doesn't come back

Yelling comes does not work we're left with two equally bad options

One is just to keep yelling treat over and over until he eventually comes back

Or the very widely recommended I think professionally derived practice of just screaming in a really high pitch until they think something amazing is going on

Um, which really sounds just like this

And just doing that over and over until they come which they sometimes don't for quite some time

But they are old and we've sort of given up you still have time and so I assume you started with the obvious, you know, recommended

Very slow patient repetitive inside practicing the direction of come over and over again with treats every time

And then you move to a different room and then you go outside while they're teller to something and then eventually you put some distractions in the way

It's very slow. It's very tedious

Uh, you can't let them off the leash and start calling when they're not ready yet because then they just hear the word calm

Is some sort of gibberish and they know it means nothing if they do it or not
