I think that you were one of the very first men in North America, definitely, that I met that was doing the work that really took the issue forward in terms of education for boys and men,

and also speaking very openly and honestly about

Interestingly, you say that you noticed around you the way that women's lives were curtailed

and that the feminist activism on campus was pointing that out, one of the aspects being that no attention was paid to poor street lighting or campus lighting or whatever.
