As you can imagine, by everything that happened on Monday, plenty of calls, plenty of text to get to. We'll try to squeeze in as much as possible because it was a very, very busy start to the week for the Silver and Blacks. So your calls and text will close out the show. We'll do that in segment number three. We'll kind of go in reverse order with everything that came down on Monday as far as the Raiders go. So in segment number two, we'll talk about the Y receivers. We'll put the Y receivers together. Jacoby Myers requested a trade. Amari Cooper? Yeah, old friend Amari Cooper, he signed with the team on a one-year deal. So we'll break all that down. What does that mean moving forward? How serious is this request of a trade by Jacoby Myers, who is target number one when it comes to the wide receiver room? Obviously, target number two behind Brock Bowers, but he's the best wide receiver that the Raiders have. We'll break all that down coming up in segment number two. Today's Lockdown Raiders podcast here in segment number one. We'll talk about the last thing that involved the Raiders on Monday, and that is the signing and trading for of quarterback Kenny Pickett. So we'll jump right into that after I tell you about the title sponsor of this show, which is Fandual. Football seasons around the corner, visit the Fandual app today and start planning your futures bets now. So as mentioned, the last move that the Raiders made or were involved with on Monday, I should say, is the trade for Kenny Pickett. Now, we knew, talked about it in great detail on Monday show that the Raiders were going to be in the backup quarterback market with Aiden O'Connell going down with the fracture risk. He suffered that on Saturday. And, well, lo and behold, they did go make a move, but they didn't go make a move for Tyler Snoop Huntley. They didn't go make a move for DTR. They didn't go make a move for Hendon Hooker, Tommy DeVito, or any other suggestions that have been put out there by Raider Nation or myself. Instead, and this tweet came out from Adam Schaefter on Monday evening, the Browns are sending quarterback Kenny Pickett to the Las Vegas Raiders per sources.

Raiders needed another backup for Gino Smith with quarterback Aiden O'Connell fracturing his wrist in the preseason finale and being expected to miss six to eight weeks.

2:46.4

The Browns are getting back a fifth round pick for Kenny Pickett per source.

2:50.2

Now Pickett has been traded from

2:51.3

pittsburg to philly from philly to cleveland and now cleveland to los vegas remember he was a

2:56.5

former 20-22 first round pick number 20 overall by the pittsburgh steelers he has a 15 and 10 overall record

3:02.8

4,765 total yards passing and 15 touchdowns in 25 starts so So there you go. That was the quarterback that the Raiders decided was going to be their experienced quarterback to back up Gino Smith now that Aiden O'Connell is down for six to eight weeks. And I'll tell you, I know a lot of people aren't getting excited about Kenny Pickett. I know a lot of people aren't saying, oh man, look out, Super Bowl now. Here they come. They got Kenny Pickett in the building. But he is a guy that checks the box of experienced quarterback that has wins in this league that knows what it looks like, knows what it feels like, kind of knows how to go in the day-to-day operations, probably fits in the Chip Kelly offense a little bit better than Aden O'Connell because he does have a sense of mobility as well. But, you know, also a guy that if you, you know, are going to have Gino Smith go down for, say, a quarter or two or a couple drives in a game, then Kenny Pickett can go in there and steer the ship and actually give you some good quality quarterback play to help you win that game. If Gino Smith misses a couple games, he's a guy that can get a couple starts. Now, if Gino's going to miss six games, eight games, seasons are wrap, right? That's a done deal records. But if he's only going to miss a couple, then Kenny Pickett is a guy that could check that box. Now, he's not someone I get super excited about, and it's funny on the Raiders Squad show. We actually, it was great timing. On Monday, we had it at 5.30 p.m. Pacific time, which is great because all these moves happened before the Raider Squad show, and normally we have it at 7.30 in the morning, but because Lincoln Kennedy was traveling, we had to move it back. And again, it worked out really well, so we were able to get our immediate reaction to all the

4:31.0

moves that happened. And the one thing I mentioned about Kenny Pickett that I'm not a big fan of, and I don't know how it all came about. So I'm just from the outside looking in. Wasn't a fan of the fact that when the Pittsburgh Steelers decided that they were going to sign Russell Wilson to a one-year deal, a veteran minimum deal after he got released from Denver, that Kenny Pickett said, yeah, trade me.

4:28.5

And they traded them to the Philadelphia Eagles instead of sticking into a one-year deal, a veteran minimum deal after he got released from Denver, that Kenny Pickett said, yeah, trade me.

4:44.8

And they traded him to the Philadelphia Eagles. Instead of sticking it out, deciding that, hey, I'm going to battle it out with this guy. This is an older quarterback that has been shown the door now by Seattle and Denver. And, you know, he's a guy that's been injured quite a bit. I can win that job, show that I'm the better quarterback. and it's a veteran minimum deal,

4:46.7

so it's a veteran minimum

5:04.2

deal, so it's not like the money would have been a big deal to keep him on the sideline. But instead, Kenny Pickett requested a trade, and the Pittsburgh Steelers sent him to the Philadelphia Eagles. I prefer a guy that's going to stay there and fight. I prefer a guy that's going to stay there and say, no, I'm the better quarterback and I'm going to show you. You could bring in this competition. That's fine.

5:03.6

But I'm a former first round pick. He's a guy that, again, has been shown the door by two different teams now and given $95 million to go away. So that would have been my preference for Kenny Pickett. He chose not to go that route. Philadelphia picked him up. Then they ultimately sent him to Cleveland. And Cleveland had, what, four or five, felt like 55 quarterbacks in the quarterback room, but they had four quarterbacks, and Cleveland had what four or five felt like 55 quarterbacks

in the quarterback room but they had four quarterbacks and they were saying that they were going to
