0:10.3	And Adnan Saeed, the subject of serial season one, convicted in the murder of Heyman Lee,
0:16.8	who had his conviction vacated in 2022, is now back in the position of being a convicted
0:24.3	murderer.
0:25.3	The vacation has been in a sense vacated.
0:28.8	The appellate court of Maryland ruled true to one that a lower court had violated
0:32.7	the right of the victim's brother, young Lee, who had been notified of and to attend
0:37.3	the hearing.
0:38.8	Young Lee was told a few days before that the court was going to rule on this case and
0:43.9	free Saeed.
0:44.9	And he did join by Zoom.
0:46.9	He was at work at the time when the hearing originally occurred.
0:50.0	They waited a half hour, then he joined by Zoom.
0:52.6	But young Lee argued that wasn't good enough.
0:54.9	And hearing where Saeed was freed, his lawyer brought it up, but it was essentially
0:59.6	shot down by the judge.
1:01.0	But now the appellate court of Maryland has disagreed.
1:04.6	I was surprised, but maybe I shouldn't have been.
1:07.7	Oftentimes we hear from experts who don't necessarily tell us what's likely to happen.
1:12.8	They tell us what they'd like to happen.
1:15.2	Maybe through no fault of their own, they are human after all.
