Summary

Have you ever caught yourself fighting for a situation you already know you don't want because it shrinks you? In this episode, I’m sharing a moment of clarity I had after spending half an hour chasing down someone in a store to inquire about a job. It will make sense when you hit "play" and have a listen.

We try so hard to make an uncomfortable situation comfortable just because it feels safe. We look for little things, like “well, at least it’s closer to home,” to justify staying on autopilot. But true liberation means you stop fighting for the bare minimum. It means you stop settling for a minute amount of money, space, love, and you actually start allowing the alignment of your true vision (which for me is working less, earning more, and pouring into my purpose).

What We’re Unpacking In This Episode:

  • Seeking Derailment vs. Allowing Alignment: What it looks like when you are fighting, inquiring over and over, and pushing for full-time hours in a place that shrinks you, instead of allowing the space to do things that actually align with your vision.
  • Making the Uncomfortable Comfortable: How we look for little things to make a limiting situation feel okay, and how that comfort keeps us limited and stuck on autopilot.
  • The Bare Minimum Trap: The moment you tell yourself that all of your wants, your needs, and your hopes don't matter as long as the basics are taken care of and a little bit of money is coming in.

0:39.4

I need a time to just decompress to wrap my head around some things that are going on in my life right now.

0:44.3

And I likely will share these things probably very soon.

0:50.8

I just want to figure out how to do it.

0:53.4

That's where it makes sense. But in any case,

0:58.3

I just want to talk to you today about getting tongue-tied, derailment versus alignment.

1:07.8

Derailment versus alignment because I had something happened very recently that once I went through it and it was nothing major, it was just something that caused me to pause.

1:17.5

Sometimes we need to cause a pause.

1:19.3

Something caused me to pause and be like, girl, what are we doing right now?

1:26.0

So I want to share this with you because I feel like for a lot of us who have experienced like childhood trauma, there are times where we, and we've kind of talked about this before, but there are times where we just, maybe it's, well, not maybe, I know

1:46.6

it's a lot has to do with like the trauma and how we process that trauma and just the things

1:51.5

that we've gone through, you know, but there are times where we just take ourselves out of

2:00.3

the bigger vision that we have for our life.

2:03.0

Maybe we do that fear.

2:04.2

Maybe we just do it out of this idea of what we feel like we deserve,

2:07.3

even though we don't really think of it that way.

2:09.6

There's probably several reasons.

2:11.8

But we kind of take ourselves off the path of this larger vision that we say that we want to have or that we have for

2:18.9

ourselves that we say we want to have for our lives. And it can be like the smallest little

2:23.4

thing. And we just kind of cling to this thing, even though when you really think about it,

2:28.5

when you, when you pause, when there's a cause for the pause, you think about it. You're just like,
