Yeah, thank you. Pleasure to be here.

Yeah, and it's, you have written a book on Gobeckley-Tepe.

And for those of you who are watching, Gobeckley-Tepi is this archaeological site that

Aaron's going to talk to us about, but it's become well-known and it's kind of become some of the latest craze over the last few years

because let me ask you, why do you think people are enamored with Gebeckley-Tepe?

And let's talk about where this site is and why it's becoming so popular.

Yeah, sure.

So, Gobeckley-Tepe is a site in Southeastern Turkey.

It's one of the oldest archaeological megalithic sites that we know of.

Supposedly it goes back to the Stone Age pre-pottery Neolithic A before the invention of pottery.

And so archaeologists have been puzzled about this site because it's a lot different than what they expected

to find.

And because of that, you know, back in the 60s it was originally surveyed as a Byzantine

cemetery.

And then so they just left it.

Well, it was in the 90s when Klaus Smith came and he said this is not a Byzantine cemetery.

This is something much more important and so because of his initial work and excavations

at the site that they realized there's something going on here in the Stone Age that we shouldn't

be seen in archaeology.
