Hello, everybody, and welcome to the Total Soccer Show.

I am Taylor Rockwell, and on today's episode, I'm going to be talking to Aaron Dolores, the founder of Black Arrow FC.

It is a great conversation, as always, and we cover a lot of ground.

But before we get to Aaron, we've had a lot of people requesting updates about Daryl Grove.

If you're new to the Total Soccer Show, Darrell and I started TSS in 2009.

He kept it going when I was abroad for two years, and we've been doing the show together five times a week since 2016 or thereabouts.

Daryl has been dealing with a stage four colon to liver cancer diagnosis since January of 2019.

He recently learned that the clinical trial he'd been involved in in Boston was no longer effective.

Since then, he's been exploring new trial options. That remains the case. However, he's been in and out of the hospital lately. He is there now. I think we'll be for the foreseeable future. And to be totally honest, I have not really been able to talk to him very much. He's using all of his strength to stay strong and positive. The last update I got about 10 minutes before I recorded this was from his wife, Shannon, that he was happily surveying his food menu after a successful procedure. I think he had not been able to eat in order to do that procedure. So now he can, and food is always good. I would like to be able to tell you all something more concrete, certainly something much more positive, but that's about all the news I can provide at present. Hopefully, Daryl will be able to update you all himself sometime soon, but for now I just ask for your support for him, patience with the show, as we keep going as best we can. I know there are plenty of you out there

who would much prefer to hear his voice over mine, and trust me, I'm with you. For now, though, please do feel free to send any positive words you'd like to Darrell at totalsockershow.com. As I said before, he might not respond, but kind words certainly cannot hurt. But one last thing I would like to add and really stress,

it is not time to panic.

But for now, I'm aware that this is not the most optimistic or energetic way to begin the podcast.
