Hey everyone, welcome to Health Theory. Today's guest is Aaron Alexander. He's a manual therapist

0:06.2

and movement coach known for his work with some of the world's most accomplished athletes and

0:10.8

celebrities. He's also a sought-after speaker on the topics of movement and wellness, the host

0:16.4

of the top rated Align Podcast, and the author of the upcoming book The Align Method. Aaron,

0:23.3

there's a lot of alignment concepts in your work and I would love to know what is the alignment

0:30.8

method, what's all that about, and how did it get started? So the line method is, this is going

0:35.6

to be a roundabout way to describe what the Align Method is. There's interesting quote from

0:40.4

philosopher called Alvin Toffler. They said the successful people of the future will be able to

0:45.9

learn, unlearn, and re-learn. And so what the Align Method breaks down is how do we start to

1:05.6

environment, all effects of physiology, sight, what you're looking at or not looking at. So we

1:10.1

can start to tap into all of these kind of divergent aspects of movement that have been on the

1:16.1

outskirts, but I think are actually the underlying foundation of our health. One of the things that you

1:22.0

talk about a lot that I find super interesting is how our body posture, our body language, is

1:29.7

connected to our brain. What are some of the key notions around that that people may not be aware of?

1:35.0

Yeah. So there's all sorts of interesting research around body language and movement affecting.

1:39.6

One, just obviously, like dance is one of the most effective tools for staving off cognitive

1:45.9

dysfunction. So one, your body processes sound or your brain processes sound and it totally

1:51.3

is a separate portion of the brain that has its own storage house for it. Music is coming.

1:56.3

So it turns these other parts on, I start moving and you have that sensation when you hear
