Greetings, everyone. Welcome back to any rate. My name is Evan Ray, and we are here to help you make sustainable financial changes without breaking a sweat. And today we've got a couple of exciting things.

0:21.0

First off, we have a new microphone. We've seen the complaints. We've seen people talking about how

0:26.1

muffled and mumbled I am. So hopefully this will help improve things. So feel free to comment

0:30.5

below whether you still see any issues or not. And today we're going to be covering monthly

0:35.0

financial check-ins to make them both more useful

0:38.0

for you financially and for your financial future, but also less intimidating and reduce

0:42.5

the friction for you getting started doing them.

0:44.7

Today with our resident bank manager turned investing mastermind Dave Ahern.

0:49.9

Hello.

0:52.5

Beautiful welcome.

0:54.6

So in your experience as a bank manager, because I always love drawing upon that,

0:58.1

because I feel like you get to see the raw unfiltered ways that people really handle their finances,

1:04.6

because most of the ways that all of us see how other people manage their finances is through social media,

1:10.1

through blog posts, through podcasts like this as well.

1:13.1

And it's going to be more filtered.

1:14.4

It's going to be more curated.

1:16.3

And so I always love hearing the raw, somebody just walks into a bank and they're trying

1:20.2

to figure out their situation or you're kind of uncovering things as you're working with

1:23.8

them.

1:25.0

How many people out there are really having some kind of regular financial

1:28.5

check-in with themselves and or their family? Probably three. Three total. Yeah. I'm mostly joking,

1:37.8

but not really. If you, if I looked at, if I talked to 10 people in two days, maybe three or four of those people would do some sort of financial check-in or have some clue where they were with their finances.
