I am Kemper Donovan, and welcome to part two of my big old listener mailbag episode and episode so big I had to break it up

into two parts. That's how much you all love writing to me and how much I love getting everything

that you write to me. Happy Valentine's Day, listeners. I can't think of a better way to celebrate a

date dedicated to love than by luxuriating

in your many messages. I feel very loved by all of you, and I hope by the end of this episode,

we will all feel that love. So let's get started. Before I begin, I have some spoiler warnings.

The following Christie's stories will be spoiled to varying degrees.

Curtain, the double clue, the hollow, Lord Edward dies. The mirror cracked from side to side.

A murder is announced. Murder on the Orient Express. Nemesis. One, two, buckle my shoe, and towards zero. All right, as I always do, I'll be

starting with the more recent episodes and working my way backward. So my first listener mail is a

response to my interview with Sophie Hannah regarding no one would do what the Lamberts have done.

This is a fresh response here from my very last episode. Here goes.

At the risk of indulging in my own literary myopia, I was surprised that neither you nor Sophie

Hannah considered Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz when discussing the lengths

animal parents will traverse in order to protect a beloved dog from an unreasonable neighbor.

Miss Gulch, of course, is a creation of the screenplay writer, but even in the book, Dorothy

slapped a lion and doused a witch to save her Toto.

Aside from that very minor and perhaps unreasonable criticism,

I enjoyed the episode very much and look forward to getting my hands on Sophie's book.
