When it comes to writing a novel, my goal is to honor the story. I never consider what is “popular” or if shorter or longer chapters are “in” or if I’m going to alienate anyone because of what I am writing – instead it is all about story. It is my responsibility as an author to constantly hone my craft to deliver the best story I possibly can.
