0:04.6	I am retired. I'm a former social worker, a mediator,
0:33.6	an exercise therapist, and a director of a 30-year director of a film festival,
0:41.6	so I've done a lot of different things. In my retirement, I'd never written before,
0:48.6	and I'd never really been truly drawn to true crime.
0:52.6	The reason I decided to write this book was because I knew the police officer and her daughter,
1:00.6	and his daughter, who both apprehended criminals on the same day,
1:07.6	and these criminals were really on the cusp of escalating their criminal activity.
1:13.6	And I saw, wow, you know, father and daughter, same day, this is just a really good story.
1:19.6	I knew them because the daughter used to babysit for my kids.
1:23.6	And I always loved when she babysit, because her father was a police officer,
1:27.6	and he always used to drive around by my house to make sure everything was okay
1:30.6	while the girls were watching my kids. So I always felt really safe.
1:35.6	They taught me this story many years ago, and I just put it aside,
1:39.6	because I was so busy with other things in my life.
1:42.6	But in retirement, I decided, you know, I think this would make a good book.
1:49.6	And that's what drew me to write this story.
1:53.6	So it's really a story, not only of crime, but of justice being served with the crime,
2:02.6	and a father and daughter, who both apprehended criminals on the same day.
