Now, normally at this time of year, the pair of us will be busy with Burns Suppers,

which is the annual ritual we have here in Scotland to mark the birthday of our national poet Robert Burns.

If you don't know what a Burns' supper is, it's a very eclectic thing.

It's the poetry of Robert Burns, our national poet.

We have a dram, we eat haggis, we sing songs, quite often dance.

It's a real celebration in the dark days of January.

And it's worldwide, you know, from Musselboro to Moscow.

This is at an international event.

The work of Robert Burns has circled the globe.

Couldn't agree with that more.

I'm going to speak a great heresy here now.

Not every poem that Robert Burns wrote is a work of genius,

but a hell of a lot of them are.
