So, Ryan McGee, when did you first meet Mike Leach?

You know, it's a great question because I had interviewed him many times in like the

formal settings, right?

Press conference, I mean, it's formal as it can be with Mike Leach.

The post game press conference, you know, the Monday coaches press conference, media days,

those types of things.

But the time I always go back to was in 2017.

I flew out to Pullman, Washington to do, it was supposed to be an interview for Sports

Center for Television.

And I was also supposed to write a big profile story for ESPN.com.

And I was told I had 15 minutes.

And for you non-sport riders out there, that is not enough time.

Like to do it.

That is a nightmare.

I do not do TV and to write.

And so, I purposely wore what I lovingly refer to as my ugliest necktie, which is a tie

that my daughter gave me.

For Father's Day, it's an old like civil war era cartographers rendering of the North

Carolina coast.

I wore that title purpose.

And throughout the interview with Mike Leach, I kept fiddling with my tie, kept straightening

it out, you know.
