And this week I'm talking to Mona Sobhani about her book, Proof of Spiritual Phenomena, a neuroscientist

discovery of the ineffable mysteries of the universe. Mona Subhani, PhD, is a cognitive

neuroscientist, a former research scientist at the University of Southern California. She holds

a doctorate in neuroscience from the University of Southern California

and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Vanderbilt University with the MacArthur Foundation

Law and Neuroscience Project. She was also a scholar with the Sachs Institute for Mental Health

Law, Policy and Ethics, and her work has been featured in the New York Times, Vox, and other media

So we're going to be talking about your book, which is called Proof of Spiritual Phenomena,

a Neuroscientist discovery of the ineffable mysteries of the universe.

It was a great title.

So to start out, though, you say at the beginning of the book, you were, in your words, vehemently opposed to religion and spirituality

because science was your religion.

Yes.

Yeah.

I didn't grow up in a very religious household.

My mom was spiritual.
