1992 presidential election and Governor Bill Clinton of Arkansas was following his plan

outlined at debate prep.

Jab at the president, attack his record on the economy, hoping for that opening

for one of his big ready-to-go rehearsed lines in the debate.

It worked in the first two debates of that year, but this last debate was coming off a vice

presidential debate between Al Gore and Dan Quayle where

running made Al Gore hadn't been as aggressive as Clinton or the campaign would have

hoped. Clinton as a front runner was bearing more criticism and even

the debate prep felt a little lackluster going through the motion after two media proclaimed debate wins by the Democratic candidate

for the presidency of the United States. Still, he stuck to his message economics.
