A highly anticipated mission to Jupiter's Moon Europa to study the Moon and its ocean is expected to launch soon, once the weather conditions are right.

The $5 billion Europa Clipper mission will have the spacecraft conduct a detailed study of the moon

looking for potential places where Europa might host alien life.

It's the largest planetary exploration spacecraft NASA has ever made.

As wide as a basketball court when its solar sails are unfolded,

it has a mass of about 6,000 kilograms, or to put that in perspective,

the weight of a large African elephant. The search for life in our solar system has been primarily

focused on Mars due to the fact that it's technically in the habitable zone from the sun.

However, Mars is not an attractive place to live, as it has a lack of atmosphere and high levels of radiation.

But it is relatively close to Earth, making it easier to send missions there to explore it.
