Summary

The following is the second half of a 2 part interview we did with our friends Doug and Susan McConnell. Doug is a marathon swimmer. If you haven’t heard it yet, I recommend you go back and listen to podcast #337. We left off with Doug and his team led by Susan who just swam the English Channel. Doug now turns to Hawaii's Ka'iwi Channel which has only been completed by 35 swimmers. The swim itself is 32+ miles and started on the west end of the almost deserted Island of Molokai. 1:01.3	What did you do this summer?
1:02.5	Right.
1:02.9	We were planning a swim, actually for a couple of years.
1:07.7	We had postponed it from 015 now to 016.
1:13.1	And this was a swim between two islands of Hawaii, where the swim goes, it's called the Ka'evi Channel, also the Molokai channel.
1:21.3	So you swim from the western end of Molokai to the eastern end of Oahu. Okay. And how many people have done that one?
1:29.5	That's a short list. It's 38 successful solo swimmers.
1:34.6	And so fairly obscure even in the marathon swimming world.
1:39.0	And what makes this one more difficult? Like why less people? Is it because it's simply
