brand new week very influential week perhaps the most seminal week politically

of our life it is is D day. It is the Iowa Caucus Day

January 15th. It is Monday. And you know a day like today even on a normal

election cycle is always the worst day to do what I do for a living

because you know it's not worth wasting your time to analyze the 50-50 sort of intellectual debate over why the polls are either

right or wrong.

We will find out. Most of you will find out a few hours before you

before we get the results from the caucus. Some of you might even hear this

afterwards. So I'm not going to sit and waste your time giving my case for why I think the election

will turn out a certain way. It's a waste of time. I want to give you a show every

day that is self-contained that is relevant up-to-date with the latest news, but also

something that is durable and useful for the future.

So that's why we're actually going to go over some of what has happened the last few days with the Iowa

Caucasus that will stand eternally regardless of what the results are.

And before going into that, I'm just going to say that

I have never faced an election like this where

the realm of outcomes was so divergent I think realistically

and yet the consequences of each of those outcomes are so so grave and that's where we are today.
