Asia Wilson I wanted to talk a bit about power, particularly what seems like Democrats'

unwillingness, or at least their discomfort with

wielding it. I want to talk about three issues. Eliminating the

filibuster, the requirement that you first get 60 votes before proceeding to

vote on legislation that only needs a simple

majority to pass, statehood for Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico, and expanding the federal

judiciary.

You see, eliminating the filibuster.

Just last week at Congressman Lewis's funeral,

our forever president,

Barack Obama reminded us that the filibuster is a relic of Jim Crow.

Once we pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, we should keep marching to make it even better.
