Summary

It's that time of year again: back to school! And over on Instagram all week we've been doing homeschooling Q&A's and it's brought up a ton of fun discussions. So we are bringing the Q&A to the podcast. Listen in:  Listen to the Podcast: Don’t forget to subscribe to the podcast in iTunes. While we ABSOLUTELY LOVE the books that Sonlight provides, the entire curriculum wasn't for us. But we still purchase the book sets each year to use throughout our school year Master Books - If you are looking for an incredibly sound Christian curriculum that is Charlotte Mason based, then Master Books is the one for you! We did their math last year and loved it and we own several of their other books. We love Master Books! The Good and the Beautiful - a newer curriculum that is beautiful, stunning, and so inspiring! We are trying some of their curriculum this year to try it out!

Jamie Belmay. Hey, ladies, welcome back to the podcast. Today we're going to be doing a homeschooling

0:25.3

Q&A and you listening may not homeschool and that's totally fine. We're going to talk about

0:30.0

some different homeschool things and just kind of sprinkled throughout some fun things you

0:34.2

can do with your kids even if you're not homeschooling because really the basis of homeschooling is just home education. And no matter where your kids go

0:41.9

to school throughout the day, whether that's at home with you or to a school classroom or,

0:46.7

you know, some other option, you still are supposed to be there educating your kids when

0:53.3

they are home with you and just throughout

0:54.9

their life, right? So we're going to talk about a few things like that. And we're going to talk

0:59.1

about kind of a few of our reasons for homeschooling. And then we're going to jump straight into a

1:03.0

Q&A. I've got a bunch of different questions to answer. I did a Q&A over this last week on

1:08.5

Instagram. And I thought I might have a couple questions about

1:11.6

homeschool. And I had so many that I thought it would be a really fun one here to put on

1:17.0

Instagram. I mean, on the podcast. And if you have absolutely no interest in homeschool,

1:22.4

you can just skip this episode. Come back for the next episode. No problem. But it is that time of year. It's back to school.

1:29.5

And we do get a lot of questions about why we chose to homeschool and what that really looks like.

1:36.0

Because we have five kids. We run a business from home. And life is just busy, right? And so people are

1:42.1

always asking, how do you manage it? How do you manage your time?

1:46.1

You also do this podcast and this ministry. Like, how can you possibly do homeschool as well?

1:50.9

Because homeschool in and of itself is a full-time job, right? So I think the time management part is probably the biggest thing that I get asked about.
