So normally around this time of year, we take a break from the normal hair game podcast episodes that we do.

And I do a little monologue for a minute or two about the holidays and what

it means to me. And so that's what we're going to do right now. This is my favorite time of year.

If you've been listening to me for any period of time and we're going on six years now, I believe.

This is my favorite time of year. It was my favorite time of year when I was a

kid, and it's still my favorite time of year, especially now that I have kids. And so,

regardless of whether you celebrate a religious holiday or a secular one like Thanksgiving,

there seem to be all sorts of reasons to celebrate something around now.

The weather changes, even in Los Angeles, work slows or work speeds up, depending on what you do and what kind of clients you have.

The end of the year is coming, and it's natural at this time to consider what this past year meant to you. The end of a year, remember what

happened this past year for the good things that happened this past year, a chance to be

grateful. For the hard times that happened this past year, the inevitable hard times, we all have

them, a chance to start over in the new year, a rebirth, all yours for the taking,

if you want it. For me, things are extremely busy with work and family stuff right up until

Christmas Eve, which just happens to also be my birthday. I'm not soliciting birthday presents, don't worry. And then between

Christmas and New Year's Day, it's quiet. And of course, I love this period of time. We love to go to

the beach, even if it's chilly. If it's sunny, we love to go to the beach at this time of year.

But we usually don't travel. It's too crowded.

And so I leave that up to the braver people amongst us.

But then comes January, which often means downtime in our industry.
