Clement Knox joins us now from London.

His new book is called Seduction, a history from the Enlightenment to the present.

Clement, thanks for being here.

Thanks a lot, Clement.

So your day job, I want to start there because you have a book-oriented day job.

You work as a non-fiction buyer at Waterstones, which is of course a major British bookstore

chain.

What's your job like there?

What do you do?

So there are two of us managing non-fiction and there are about 280 stores.

My job really is just to get the right books and the right stores.

I'm responsible for history, philosophy, politics, popular science.

I mean, about nine categories overall.

So we deal a lot with the publishers, a lot with the books, a lot of those as well.
