Time for our Reporters Roundtable, where we look back at the major stories of the week with three of

Washington's top political reporters. And what a week it's been.

It was gut-wrenching, but it came as no real surprise. For days, the Pentagon and the president

himself had been warning that the ISIS-K organization might launch a terrorist attack at the Kabul

airport to undermine both the U.S. military and the Taliban,

and on Thursday they did. Will the deadly ISIS-K attack derail the U.S. evacuation process

from Afghanistan? Will the U.S. respond? And does this destroy any credit that Biden might have gotten for ending the war?

On the home front, whenever they were asked how the House could ever convince

progressive Democrats and moderate Democrats to come together and support both the $1.2 trillion

bipartisan infrastructure bill and the $3.5 trillion budget bill, and the three and a half trillion dollar budget bill,

White House officials merely said, we trust Speaker Nancy Pelosi to get it done. And she did.

Now the big question is, can Chuck Schumer deliver enough Democratic votes in the Senate?

Meanwhile, all eyes on Vice President Kamala Harris's

maiden goodwill mission to Southeast Asia. How'd she do? Time for today's panel to weigh in.

with a very serious situation, perhaps an unnecessary caveat that none of us are military officials
