Hello with me today, the musician Andy Summers, best known as lead guitarist with the

police and who's recently been active on several fronts. In August he published a collection of

short stories called Fretted and Moning, while his new album, Harmonics of the Night, was conceived

as the soundtrack to an exhibition of his photographs that will open in London next year.

With Andy is the artist and, in his words, Crusader for colour, Kaif Fassett.

Caf's written more than 50 books on colour in textiles, mosaic and painting,

the most recent of which is titled Caif Facet in the studio.

What have you chosen as a good read?

My choice for today is a tale for the time being by Ruth Ozeki.

This is an amazing book.

One of the best books I've read in recent years. It's really the tale of between two women. Ruth, who lives in British Columbia, and now who's a Japanese teenager who has written a lot about her life, her story and traveling from California where she was a

younger teenager to live in almost poverty in Tokyo and then put all her thoughts in a diary
