Hello and welcome. Today we range from a child's eye view of racial bigotry in the deep south

via mysterious disappearances from a quiet English cathedral town

to Buckingham Palace, where the Queen's acquired a new and worrying interest. With me to introduce

their choice of a good read are Britain's most successful international female rower, Catherine Granger,

CBE, who having won silver medals at the Sydney, Athens and Beijing Olympics last year carried off Olympic gold in London.

Catherine's autobiography, Dreams Can Come True, was published this summer.

And here with her is the author and TV presenter Fern Britain, whose many programmes have included ITVs this morning and Furn Britain Meets for BBC One.

She's published an autobiography and four novels of which the most recent The Holiday Home came out earlier this year.

And a new one called A Seaside Affair will be published in the spring.
