Hello today, two women at the end of their tether, one in Alaska, one in Wimbledon.

And on a rather more global scale, have we maybe left it too late to save ourselves from extinction?

journalists, screenwriter and presenter Rick Edwards, host of BBC One's Daytime Quiz Show Impossible

and with Dr Michael Brooks of the podcast, Science-ish. A book inspired by that series, Science

Ish, the peculiar science behind Movies, came out last month.

With Rick, another presenter, George Lamb, whose many programmes on TV and radio have included E4's Big Brother's Little Brother and the BBC Radio 6 music show.

More recently, with his father, the actor Larry Lamb, he travelled around Britain by bike for Channel 5.

Rick, if you'd start us off, your good read is.

It's Heroes of the Frontier by Dave Eggers.

And I chose this book, slightly risky in a way, and I hadn't read it.

However, Eggers is one of my favourite authors. I was going to read it next and I

had good faith that he wouldn't let me down. And he hasn't. And he hasn't, George, exactly.

A woman called Josie flees her life in Ohio with her two children. She rents a sort of dilapidated old RV and is traveling around Alaska.
