Summary

Thursday was a different kind of day for many reasons for your humble host featuring our meet and greet t-shirt giveaway, a crazy thunder storm and the strangest concert experience ever.    It happened on a day where the president of the Kansas Senate released a letter from Chiefs president Mark Donovan that details exactly what the Chiefs want to build in Kansas as they ask for a STAR bond extension.    The Royals are the third worst team in baseball over the past 50 game and that's no small sample.  As they get swept at home, again, it's time to start trading for the future.    There will be no podcast next Friday on July 4 so we take this Friday to take a look at the often looked over holiday playlist we often get wrong.  There is one song in particular you should never, ever play on the fourth of July yet it's actually ranked as the top song ever for this holiday.  It's by Bruce Springsteen and we will tell you the truth today about this America hater.    Then we play a great song that honors the flag as our song of the week.

at Azura Amphitheater in Bonner Springs watching Eric Church perform in one of the, well, the strangest and most different shows

I've ever been to. We are giant fans of Eric Church. He did not bring his band. As you know,

probably Luke Bryan was to headline a country stampede on Thursday night and he fell ill and

48 hours out called his friend Eric Church

and said, can you go to Kansas City and fill in for me? There are also festival concerts that

Luke Ryan was supposed to do this weekend. I believe those are maybe in Nebraska and Iowa.

And Eric Church came out and said, I'm going to do both of those too, but half of my band is out of the

country. I couldn't bring them here.

I brought my backup singer Joe, who's a woman and has a tremendous voice, but the mix

wasn't particularly great. Her mic didn't seem like it was up high enough most of the night.
