Summary

In honor of World Mental Health Day, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex sat down with us for a conversation about prioritizing mental health, removing the stigma around the issue, and how we can all contribute to a healthier world: physically, mentally, emotionally, holistically. "The Duke and Duchess learned about teenager therapy from a New York Time profile on the hosts and show a few months ago. They listened to a few episodes and were so impressed with the show and the grace and honesty of the young hosts. They knew immediately that they wanted to support their important work." We cannot emphasize enough how honored we are to be able to bring you this important conversation. We hope you enjoy it and find something you can apply to your life. Take care of yourself, you deserve to be loved.  This episode is presented by Headspace.  Go to headspace.com/code and use code PRTEENTHERAPY for a free month! Learn more about your ad choices. They have helped me so much. Specifically falling asleep. I've got some of the best sleep in my life using headspace.

They have a five minute course that allows you to fall asleep and ever since I started using that, I've been falling asleep so easily.

I mean, five minutes. I don't even make it all the way through. So if you have to fall asleep, I would personally really recommend that.

I absolutely love headspace when it comes to sleeping. But headspace offers a lot more things. They offer meditation, focus music, and much more that allows you to live a healthier, happier, and most importantly, a more mindful life.

1:25.0

Really happy to be with you guys today. We're doing well. How are you doing? We're doing good. It's a beautiful day.

1:30.0

Very excited. A little bit nervous. Oh, I'm definitely. You do not need to be nervous. Why do you feel nervous? I think we're all nervous on.

1:37.0

You're probably. Yeah. You're gonna nervous. Yeah. I mean, I'll get through it.

1:44.0

So it's great. Yeah. What do you guys use to not get nervous? I think a lot of it is just when you walk into environments that are unfamiliar, you don't know what to expect.

1:54.0

There's always going to be some nerves. But if you have a sense of what's going to happen, I think if you're prepared and you're really comfortable and what you know to be true, then you're just really being yourself.

2:05.0

And at the end of the day, people are people. So whatever room of people you're with, it's still the same you that you bring to the table.

2:12.0

So I think once you're clear on that, it's helpful. But if not, it's always a good deep breath. It is very helpful.

2:19.0

I know. You guys have been doing a lot of activism lately. This episode is an honor of Road Mental Health Day. What have you guys been up to in the mental health space?

2:28.0

Wow. You know what, I for us, I don't think it's even confined to mental health. I think the way everything that's happening in the world right now, it's the moment that people start to think about mental health.

2:39.0

Immediately people think about a small group of people as opposed to every single one of us.

2:46.0

And I think if you could, if you could safely say that 90% of people on planet earth have suffered some form of trauma, some form of loss, some form of grief, and that's different in the varies to every single person, then certainly through the through this year through COVID, I think it's probably safe to say that 99.9%.

3:06.0

If not 100% of people have experienced some form of one of those or all of those at the same time. So I think, you know, now for me, as I said, rather mental health being focused on the people that are struggling, it needs to go much wider than that.
