Summary

All around us, people are angry and afraid. John Mark invites us to become a community of peaceful, 'non-anxious presences' by engaging in the practice of silence and solitude. Through this practice, we learn how to receive the love of God into the deepest places of our pain and fear.

1:05.0	Stand with me for the reading of scripture. Luke Chapter 5,
1:17.0	5, V, 12. While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy.
1:25.0	When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.
1:35.0	Jesus reached out his hand and he touched the man,
1:37.6	I am willing, he said.
1:39.4	Be clean.
1:41.1	Immediately the leprosy left him.
1:43.0	Then Jesus ordered him,
1:45.0	don't tell anyone, but go, show yourself to the priests and offer the sacrifices
1:49.0	that Moses commanded for your cleansing as a testimony to them, yet the news about Jesus
1:56.0	spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their illnesses.
2:05.7	But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we open our heart and all that we are the deep place in us to you.
2:58.4	May listening to this teaching from the text that we just read and more, be an act of yielding in our inner woman or inner man to the will and the love of God. As we said last week, may our bodies at an individual level
