Summary

Lisa Wimberger, founder of the NeuroSculpting Institute, is on a mission to help individuals find healthy ways to navigate the great unknown of emotional and mental confusion and stress.

She joins Ben on this episode to tell her journey of studying the nervous system and finding strategies of dealing with her own life-threatening trauma - a journey that led her to develop NeuroSculpting®.

NeuroSculpting® is a 5-step meditation process that can strategically help an individual release the grip of old patterns and entrain their brain to creating new and more supportive patterns, habits, and behaviors. Lisa has seen amazing results in her client’s wellbeing with this more active and involved meditation practice and if you struggle with listening to your body and meditating, this episode will give you tools to approach your meditation practice differently and succeed. After all – Breathe. Walk. Meditate.

Hey everyone, welcome in the muscle intelligence podcast.

0:16.3

I think a lot of you know that I've been mentoring coaches lately.

0:20.4

And I've had an incredible opportunity to work as a

0:24.0

coach as a trainer for over 20 years and studied really extensively. The reason I tell you this is

0:31.2

because it's so important to acknowledge that your body, whether you're aware of it or not, is a perfect representation

0:40.3

of what's going on inside your body. So the external expression of your body, which includes

0:45.5

the way you move, your body composition, your muscle tension is a very good indicator as to what's going on inside of your body.

0:58.2

And there's a great book called The Body Keeps the Score, which goes deeply into this.

1:04.4

And it's really probably unconsciously known to all of us.

1:10.4

You look at someone, you can see the tension.

1:13.0

You know, you look at someone you can see them very relaxed.

1:15.3

It all exists at an unconscious level, but so few of us pay attention to it.

1:22.7

I'd like for you to start paying attention to it.

1:25.0

And today's guest is going to give you a pathway to start paying attention to it. And today's guest is going to give you a pathway to start

1:28.4

paying attention to it. So how do you hold your tension? How do you move? Do you have

1:33.7

tight muscles? Do you have a hard time accessing range of motion when you train? I hope

1:39.7

these things are an indication of what's happening at the level of the autonomic nervous system.

1:43.2

Are you hyper aroused all the time in hypertonic, meaning hyper amounts of tone? Are you someone that's

1:50.7

relatively fluid and relatively relaxed and calm? This is so important when it comes to your health.

1:58.0

Imagine what's happening at the level of the muscle, if your muscles are always hypertonic. They're always super contracted. Your blood vessels have to constrict or they're

2:07.7

being constricted. Your blood pressure has to go up to compensate and get nutrients into the blood

2:12.3

or into the tissue. It's a big concern. Today's guest, Lisa Wimberger, is the creator of neurosculpting,
