Roswell, New Mexico, January 2009.

On January 1st, 2009, Greg Blodgett reported his father, William Blodgett, missing.

Greg was concerned that something had happened to his father due to the fact that no one in his family had been able to make contact with

William since midday December 23rd 2008.

Greg lives in Maryland and the only family that lives in town besides William is his ex-wife, Joan Blodgett, who called

Greg today telling him that a note had been left on her door from Barbara Brown and Mona Nichols, stating they had not heard from William since the 24th of

December.

William was originally supposed to be feeding Joanne's dogs while she was out of town.

Mona Nichols, who describes herself as William's girlfriend,

say that she had last seen and spoken to William on December 23rd

at about 11 a.m. It was a warmer day than average, especially for a winter day.

Apparently William had a problem with his tenant in the front part of his home, accusing a man named Tony of stealing William's wallet.

It was shortly after this fight that William apparently tried to evict Tony, but investigators

were not aware of the results of that action or of the stolen wallet information.

Both Greg and Mona mentioned Jerry Soray as being William's best friend, but neither had his contact information.

Police gathered information regarding the last known contacts with William Blodgett.

Then a welfare check was made to his home.

After arriving and knocking on the front door, it opened on its own.

The simple weight of the knock pushing the door open.

There was a smell.
